Proper care and maintenance of leather shoes will help to ensure their longevity in wear. Please browse our range of shoe care accessories and feel free to contact us for specific shoe care guidance.
On the first few occasions, wear your new shoes in dry conditions. Thereafter try to avoid wearing the same pair of shoes on successive days. This prolongs their life and helps keep them smart and comfortable.
Never dry wet shoes near fires, radiators or hot pipes. Slow natural drying at normal room temperatures is best. Filling with newspaper will absorb moisture. Keep them on shoe trees when dry to retain their shape, and always use a shoe horn.
Clean them regularly with a brush or damp cloth before applying a good quality shoe cream or polish of the correct colour.
Suede Shoes: Remove all dirt when dry and brush up the nap using a stiff bristle suede brush. Stains can be removed with a suede solvent cleaner and smooth patches restored with fine sandpaper.
Kid Shoes or other Lightweight Leathers: Polish with a high quality neutral or coloured shoe cream.
